Summary

Own the marketing and communications function at Blockchain Capital to uphold our established brand, ensuring powerful and actionable communications that continue to elevate the Blockchain Capital brand. Engage with the firm’s portfolio companies and its founders, from the point of onboarding, to ensure that the firm's brand is consistent and cohesive all while fostering a community-driven experience, and assisting the portfolio with strategic marketing advice. This is a full-time position, ideally located onsite in San Francisco or New York.

Objectives & Responsibilities

• Manage strategic brand development
• Own public relations (journalist/media relationships)
• Project manage the firm’s content engine. Oversee the creation of and work alongside investors on blog thought leadership pieces
• Create and standardize key marketing assets for the investment team
• Support portfolio company welcome, onboarding, and milestone experience
• Lead press strategy around fundraising announcements for the firm and portfolio companies
• Identify short- and long-term scheduling and resource needs, including development and management of annual marketing budget
• Manage the firm’s social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn)
• Work alongside the Platform team to elevate the portfolio and founder experience

Portfolio Company Support

Partnering with portfolio company Founder/CMO/Head of Comms to ensure that the brand is seen and heard:

• Core communications – PR, social, thought leadership placement
  • Funding announcements
  • Product launches
  • Content placement– traditional press, blogs, podcasts, speaking engagements at events
• Resource referral
  • The best agencies for brand, PR, content, etc.
  • Executive referral for brand, communications, and marketing hires with portfolio companies.

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience working in crypto and understanding of the space
• Multichannel marketing experience
• Self-motivated and self-started team member who understands how to shape a story, deliver a message, and create a following
• Well versed in social and current communications tactics and best practices
• Resourceful, creative and results oriented
• Creative with an intuition for design and aesthetic
• Detail-oriented, thoughtful written and verbal communicator
