What is broken

Today, brands know how to get attention, but few create experiences that make people want to stay. Marketing, especially in tech, continues to be optimized for volume and reaction. In The Soul of the Company, we explored a vision for how storied worldbuilding can shift attention towards ideas worth thinking about. We are now looking for a Marketing Producer to join our team, working directly with the Marketing Director, to tell the stories of our founders and firm with the care and intention they were built with.

Who we are

Founded in 2013, BCAP became one of the earliest venture capital funds dedicated to helping entrepreneurs build new networks and markets. The firm has since backed more than 210 companies and token projects, driven by a conviction that blockchain can redistribute financial power in a way that's permissionless and meritocratic. 

BCAP was an early investor in Coinbase and has backed crypto's defining companies like Aave, Circle, Tether, Kraken, World, Phantom, Paxos, Yellow Card, TRM Labs, Securitize, and Polymarket. BCAP built a tokenized fund, generally recognized as the first tokenized investment fund in venture. 

Who you are

A few things that matter

• You're operationally savvy, comfortable taking an idea from concept to execution, with a nuanced understanding of production timelines, relationship management, and editorial excellence. Instead of relying on playbooks, you prefer to take swings, learn, and write your own. During inevitable setbacks, you know how to improvise.

• You have a strong instinct for visual and verbal storytelling, a POV on where marketing conventions fall short, and ideas for what to do instead.

• You are well-versed in AI-native automations and know when to apply human judgement and when to automate manual processes.

• You're fluent in cultural dynamics in crypto and tech: the way things move, the way credibility is built and lost. Experience in venture, CPG/D2C brand building, content creation, or event production is a plus.

(And a few that don’t)

The right person for this role might be a marketer, a sharp creative operator, a former founder, or an eager generalist. What matters more than your CV is your judgement and discernment for how to make good things great.

What you'll actually do

1. Operations and Production: Own the execution of our editorial calendar, producing content across formats: print, social, video, merch, and events. Maintain a cohesive brand voice and visual identity for BCAP, nurturing a direct relationship with our audience in the process.

2. Marketing Systems Engineering: Build systems, agents, and automations that scale quality, not just output. Coordinate logistics with external venues and vendors, interpret data, track what's working, and recommend adjustments.

3. Media Amplification & Portfolio Support: Help our founders get credit for the problems they are solving and package their insights in resonant formats. You’ll nurture connections with journalists, organizers, and partners, and facilitate timely placement and introductions.

Salary is commensurate with experience (including potential for carried interest participation).

For positions based in New York, the annual base salary range for this role is listed below. Actual salaries may vary based on factors including an individual applicant's experience and qualifications. This range does not include equity or additional compensation, such as bonuses.
