We are seeking an experience professional to join our team and lead Energy Web’s delivery of

technical components as part of various projects funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe and similar public funding sources.

Overview of responsibilities

This role will be accountable for coordinating with other project stakeholders and determining how Energy Web’s tech stack can be implemented to meet Energy Web’s responsibilities. It therefore requires both excellent stakeholder engagement skills and strong technical (software solution architecture) skills. This role does not entail proposal writing or grant administration, as those duties are led by others within Energy Web.

Specific responsibilities

• Working with colleagues to identify the specific work packages for which Energy Web is responsible within a particular project.
• Representing Energy Web at external project kick-off meetings and other convenings.
• Coordinating with other project participants regarding Energy Web’s deliverables, ensuring that they are compatible with those other project participants’ deliverables.
• Designing, alone or with the support of Energy Web’s solution architects, the architecture of Energy Web’s deliverables.
• Overseeing the successful delivery of Energy Web’s deliverables. This may include acting as a technical product manager within Energy Web’s Agile Scrum approach (e.g., managing backlogs) or delegating those responsibilities to others where appropriate.
• Managing communications with internal and external stakeholders during the build phase to keep all stakeholders aligned.
• Identifying and resolving roadblocks and ensuring timely solution delivery.
• Preparing status reports, delivering presentations, and conducting demonstrations where appropriate to the scope of Energy Web’s project responsibilities.

You are a strong candidate if

• You have professional experience working in a software product or project management role (ideally but not necessarily in the energy sector).

• You have professional experience working as a software solution architect. This should include knowledge of:

o Cloud native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker/Kubernetes);

o Hybrid and native mobile deployments

o blockchain and other Web3.0 technologies, especially Ethereum, Solidity, smart

contracts and/or Polkadot/Substrate

o Back-end development frameworks (NodeJS, Socket.io, ExpressJS)

o Front-end development frameworks (HTML5, JavaScript, AngularJS)

o Database and data warehouse architectures (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)

o Data exchange and APIs (JSON, RESTful, Web socket, Tomcat)

o IoT architectures and management services (Balena, AWS IoT, Azure IoT, etc.)

o Messaging protocols like MQTT, TCP/IP, ModBus

• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills—especially the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complicated technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• You have strong English skills. German-language skills are a bonus.

Location, travel, and timeline: This role must be based in Europe. Travel within Europe (up to 10% of the time annually) for project meetings or similar events will be required.

Reporting: This position will work across multiple EW teams and report to the Director of Global

Delivery.

Compensation: Energy Web offers competitive compensation depending on location and
