Job Summary
We are seeking a project manager to take responsibility for the implementation and delivery of research and innovation projects funded by the E.U. Horizon Europe program and similar multilateral projects. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects within strict timelines and budgets. The E.U. project manager will play a critical role in coordinating interdisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and fostering collaborative partnerships to drive the successful delivery of cutting-edge research initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Energy Web colleagues, including solution architects, software developers, product owners, finance, and administrative staff.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables, in accordance with (Horizon Europe) program guidelines and objectives.
- Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment conducive to innovative research and development.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective strategies to mitigate challenges and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external project stakeholders, including academic partners, research institutions, industry collaborators, and relevant government entities.
You are a strong candidate if
- You have experience in managing complex research and innovation projects; experience relating to Horizon Europe or other E.U.-funded programs is a plus but not required.
- You have experience managing software solution delivery, ideally with experience working in both Agile Scrum and traditional project management methodologies.
- You have excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address project-related challenges proactively.
- You are familiar with project management tools and software to facilitate efficient project planning, tracking, and reporting.
- You are able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality.
- You have experience in projects related to energy, climate/carbon, or similar sectors.
- You are proficient in English and German, at least C1 level or equivalent (both oral and written). Additional language skills are a plus.

Location, travel, and timeline
This role must be based in Europe. Travel within Europe (up to 10% of the time annually) for project meetings or similar events will be required.
Reporting
This position will work across multiple EW teams and report to the Director of Global Delivery.
