The team
Join the Trading Technologies team and start building the internet of money by supporting the Sr Director of Engineering - Trading. The Trading Technology team is responsible for everything to do with the trading backend services such as the matching engine, market data gateways, internal and external APIs, and various other trading services. The Senior Quantitative Software Engineer will be a key contributor to the success of the Kraken Risk Desk team.

The opportunity

  • Develop quantitative models and algorithms to build trading strategies for the Kraken Risk Desk
  • Conduct research and analysis of large data sets to identify trends and patterns
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data
  • Develop, maintain and improve tools, systems and processes to streamline the data analysis and modeling process
  • Work with cross functionally with other engineering teams to ensure proper implementation of models in production systems
  • Participate in code reviews, identify and fix issues in the code, and develop testing frameworks
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in quantitative engineering and bring new ideas and techniques to the team
  • Performing other duties as required

Skills you should HODL

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantitative engineering or related field
  • Experience developing high-performance, multi-threaded applications using several programming languages including C++
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience working with large data sets and statistical models
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with or knowledge of cryptocurrency is a plus

Nice to Haves

  • PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience in machine learning and data mining
  • Experience working in finance or related industry
  • Experience with cloud computing technologies such as AWS or Azure
