The team
Kraken is a market leader in one of the most innovative and fastest growing industries in the world. We are expanding across multiple dimensions, in part due to M&A and strategic investments around the world. The Corporate Development team is critical to Kraken’s growth as we look to remain nimble and opportunistic, seeking out innovative, leap-frog deals and new sources of competitive advantage.
As an Associate on our Corporate Development team, you’ll play a significant role in our M&A, and growth activities globally.
The opportunity
Work closely with a cross-functional team
Build sound financial analyses and support business case development for potential M&A and venture investment transactions
Work self-directed fluidly across multiple high-priority initiatives
Engage & build relationships with a variety of players in the industry, including incubators, founders, and investors
Perform research & financial modeling
Develop investor decks & materials
Skills you should HODL
BA or BS from a top-tier university
3-6 years of experience at a leading investment bank, venture capital firm, management consultancy, or startup
Excellence in understanding and scrutinizing business models (financials, mechanics, quality)
Excellent financial modeling and valuation skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills, writing experience (deal memos), and storytelling skills on industry trends, implications, and pain points

Advanced Excel proficiency is required
Nice to Haves
Proficiency with SQL
Strong network in crypto and/or traditional financial markets is a plus

Technical background or strong knowledge of industry software products and services
