The Team:
Joining our Global Finance Team, you'll become a vital part of a crucial team dedicated to implementing cutting-edge accounting principles within the dynamic cryptocurrency industry. Our mission at Kraken is to pave the way for financial freedom and widespread crypto adoption, and your role will play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization operates smoothly towards this goal.
Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks, including month-end closings, handling audit requests, and spearheading ad hoc system optimization projects. The Opportunity:
Responsible for month end general accrual preparation, collaborate with AP team/FP&A team/treasury team on monthly accruals and accrual related system integrations
Execute month-end close processes, including but not limited to journal entry preparation, balance sheet account reconciliation and inter-company activity reconciliation
Perform commission accruals and reconciliation processes, fostering collaboration with business group liaisons to ensure accurate commission reconciliations
Conduct financial statement flux analysis at the entity level for subsidiary companies, including drafting trend analysis and variance analysis reports
Responsible for the audit schedules preparation and ad hoc audit supports. Work closely with FXN to drive system integrations and optimizations

Possess the capability and willingness to adapt to rapidly changing priorities with agility
Skills you should HODL:
Minimum Diploma/Degree in Accounting with at least 4 years of relevant working experience
Preferably some years of audit experience
Background in accounting for financial services, fintech, banking, or an exchange strongly preferred
Experienced with accounting for complex business entities, especially a parent organization with multiple subsidiaries
Collaborative, innovative, flexible, and adept at building relationships across the organization
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel including macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, SUMIF
Google and Microsoft suite proficiency required
Nice to have:
Familiarity with SOX is a plus
Working experience with ERP systems (Netsuite is a plus)
