The team

The HR Systems team is responsible for owning and managing the various SaaS business applications and integrations supporting multiple business functions within Kraken’s Human Resource. This team works closely with our stakeholders across Talent Acquisition, People Ops, Learning, Talent Management, Performance, Comp, Benefits, Payroll, etc to provide technology solutions and services to enable them for success in carrying out business operations & launching strategic business projects.

The Sr. Manager of HRIS will be responsible for partnering closely with business to understand business pain points & areas of opportunity within HR processes and systems, building project roadmaps, and executing on projects to support the business operations for the global HR department. This role will provide techno-functional subject matter expertise and advisory to HR business to design scalable business processes and implement best in class systems for security, performance and operational efficiency. This role will manage a team of systems analysts and will be responsible for growing and nurturing a high performing HR systems team.

This role will require thorough knowledge and understanding of HR business processes, and experience implementing and administering HRIS technology stack with industry leading tools for ATS, LMS, Payroll, etc. This role reports to the Sr. Director of IT.

The opportunity

  • Form and maintain strong strategic relationships with stakeholders across the HR organization (Talent Acquisition, People Ops, Learning, Talent Management, Performance, Comp, Benefits, Payroll, etc) as the in-house systems expert overseeing a wide range of HR applications including Workday, Ashby, ADP, etc. and proactively identifying transformation opportunities and pain points

  • Manage and coach a team of HR systems analysts working across multiple projects and initiatives

  • Lead process and architecture discussions when it comes to recommending best solutions and systems for business, challenging existing IT business processes for improving operations, security, and scalability

  • Oversee HR project lifecycle (requirement gathering, design, development, test, release and stabilize/support) by managing risks, issues and dependencies using strict project governance methods

  • Partner closely with Risk and Security teams to ensure greater security, better auditability and compliance of HR systems

  • Partner with business and 3rd party vendors to evaluate and select best in class tools and solutions for HR

  • Provide oversight and manage SI partners who engage with us on HR projects and technical initiatives

  • Identify, and analyze data within systems for recommending improvements and opportunities to business and executive management

  • Proactively conduct system health checks and assessments to measure adoption, assess health and security, identify opportunity areas and act on them

Skills you should HODL

  • 8-12 years of overall experience working with the HR business stakeholders, SaaS applications and integrations

  • 5+ years of configuration and administration experience in an HRIS and working with HR business process analysis & architecture, experience with Workday required

  • 3+ years of people management experience managing technology teams for HRIS

  • Thorough understanding of HR business processes (HR Ops, Recruitment & Hiring, Total Rewards, People Relations, Talent & Development, etc),and operations(Employee Onboarding/ Offboarding, Performance Management, Payroll, etc)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of project management techniques, and methodologies

  • Comfortable working on projects with ambiguity and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time, both independently and directly with business executives and leaders

  • Experience working with internal and external audit teams to conduct SOX, SOC type of audits

Nice to haves

  • Prior consulting experience/ business process mapping experience

  • Workday certification

  • Hands on experience administering HR systems like Ashby, Docebo, ADP

  • Experience working within the enterprise applications team of a hyper growth company with complex data and integrations
