To ensure effective collaboration and seamless communication across our global team, all candidates must be available to overlap with the Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone for at least 3 hours during regular business hours. This requirement is essential for maintaining efficient workflow, participating in team meetings, and facilitating timely responses to customer inquiries and internal requests.

About the Role:

RISC Zero is searching for an outstanding Senior Frontend Engineer to be the trailblazer and founding member of our Frontend Team. This is a rare chance to be at the helm, shaping and leading the development of our frontend architecture. As the first dedicated expert in this area, your influence will be pivotal in crafting a world-class SaaS portal and applications, showcasing the innovative power of RISC Zero’s zkVM. You won’t just be joining a team; you'll be setting the direction, tackling unique challenges, and creating a legacy in our mission. This is an unparalleled opportunity to make a mark in a cutting-edge tech environment, where your work will visibly transform our products and the way we leverage zkVM technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and Innovate: Take charge of our frontend architecture, setting the direction and implementing best practices for our cutting-edge SaaS portal, Bonsai.

• Build with Impact: Develop feature-rich, scalable, and visually engaging applications that exemplify the capabilities of the RISC Zero zkVM, directly impacting our users' experience and the industry's perception of our technology.

• Collaborative Excellence: Work in synergy with cross-functional teams (Product, Solutions Engineering, Marketing) to refine and evolve our offerings, ensuring they not only meet but exceed expectations.

• Engage in High-Level Strategy: Contribute to strategic decisions with our VP of Engineering and Founders, shaping the roadmap and directly influencing the success and growth of our products.

Qualifications:

• A Frontend Visionary: With substantial experience in senior/staff frontend roles, you bring a wealth of knowledge in Typescript and modern JS frameworks (React or similar). Your expertise will be the cornerstone of our frontend endeavors.

• A Web3 Advocate: Your familiarity with Web3 and ZK systems (though not mandatory) will be a significant asset, enabling us to navigate the unique challenges and opportunities in this space with greater insight.

• An Innovator at Heart: You thrive in environments where innovation is not just encouraged but expected. Your drive to explore and implement emerging technologies will help us stay at the forefront of the industry.

We do not have immediate plans to hire anyone else on the Frontend Team so it will be yours to own outright from the onset.

What We Offer:

• Salary: $231,600 - $282,000 USD

• This role is remote with the ability to travel up to 20% for team ‘onsite’ meetings.

• We have an Industrious co-working space in Seattle, with the flexibility to rent in other locations.
