We believe that a blockchain-based global economy can improve the lives of billions of people. But the same properties that make cryptocurrencies a force for good — permissionless, programmable, and instantaneous — can also make them susceptible to criminal and fraudulent activity, which causes harm to our financial system at unprecedented speed and scale.

At TRM, we're on a mission to build trust in digital assets, because the promise of crypto is too valuable to be impeded by bad actors. We provide a blockchain intelligence platform to law enforcement, financial institutions, and crypto firms to assist in the detection and prevention of cryptocurrency fraud and financial crime. Our vision is to build a company that can sustainably deliver on our mission for decades to come, enabling consumers to transact safely and securely on the blockchain

The product designer at TRM will help design a world-class product that keeps users delighted and engaged.

They will own and manage inbound requests from submission and scope to final delivery and will need to be a strong managers of workflows and workloads. We are seeking someone with initiative and ownership who can unblock their way into delivering high-quality product mockups, and with the vision to create scalable templates and systems to support our growing team.

Note: this is a PT role (approx 4-6 hours/day)

The impact you’ll have here:

  • Create full product mockups for new features, update and enhance existing features and unblock and provide feedback to the engineering team.
  • Use critical thinking to evaluate and understand our product specs, and communicate efficiently to iterate on them with the product team to improve and refine them from a design perspective when applicable.
  • Communicate openly and frequently with team members across the entire company to exchange ideas and gain a deep understanding of both user needs (investigators and customer success) and data structure (engineers).
  • Deploy strong visual design skills to create a compelling and efficient UI, and deep empathy and user experience knowledge to find ways to present our data heavy and complex flows in an efficient and delightful way.
  • Manage tight timelines, evaluating when and how to bypass traditional product design steps (user flow diagrams, prototypes, etc), in order to quickly come up with high resolution mockups using the existing product framework and design system.
  • Judiciously figure out when the existing libraries and components are lacking and only integrate new elements when they are truly necessary.

What we’re looking for:

  • Exceptional portfolio of creative work, relevant to the role
  • A strong background in UI/UX design
  • Top notch organizational skills and prioritization to track, manage and deliver what’s most important
  • Proficient with Figma, Notion, Google Workspace (Slides, Docs)
  • Proven ability to work within a cross-functional team and collaborate with humility, creativity and focus
  • You’re a problem solver and visual interpreter — able to take complex concepts and make them understandable and relatable
  • You are skilled in explaining your work and excited to participate in constructive critiques
  • You are proactive, clear, and thoughtful in your communication with team members and stakeholders
