Position overview

As Lead Product Manager - Institutional, you will own the end-to-end success of our new institutional product offering. This is a rare, high-impact opportunity to architect a product portfolio from the ground up, requiring a deep, actionable understanding of both traditional finance and cryptocurrency. Your mission will be to define the strategy, drive development and execute to deliver a world-class institutional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy and Vision
    Define, champion, and execute a compelling product vision and strategy for Xapo Bank’s institutional offerings. Ensure the product strategy is aligned with overall business goals, target client segments, and Xapo Bank’s unique value proposition in the market.
  • End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management
    Own the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation through launch and iteration. Develop and maintain a prioritised, data-driven product roadmap, translating strategy into detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure on-time, high-quality, and impactful feature delivery.
  • Institutional User Experience (UX/API)
    Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, and operational teams to define and optimise a world-class institutional user experience. This includes driving excellence across both the Web UI and API architecture, ensuring resilience, scalability, and ease of integration for institutional clients.
  • Market Intelligence & Growth Opportunities
    Conduct in-depth market analysis and stay abreast of the institutional digital asset landscape, including the competitive environment, emerging technological trends, and global regulatory changes. Translate these insights into concrete, data-driven opportunities for product differentiation and revenue growth.
  • Cross-Functional Execution & Go-to-Market
    Serve as the central leader and decision-maker for all product-related initiatives, collaborating effectively with Design, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, and Sales teams. Partner with Sales & Marketing in the development and execution of robust go-to-market strategies for product launches, ensuring successful market penetration and adoption.
  • Financial Analysis and Management
    Develop and manage pricing strategies, business models, and financial forecasts to ensure sustainable product profitability and market competitiveness in line with Xapo Bank’s values.
  • Business Case Development
    Develop comprehensive business cases for new initiatives, including partnership opportunities, financial modelling of rewards systems, and P&L forecasting to champion initiatives and align with key stakeholders.
  • Operational Excellence & Quality
    Establish clear processes and quality gates with internal teams to ensure all product releases meet the highest standards of quality, security, and operational compliance to align with Xapo Bank’s regulatory obligations.
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis
    Define, monitor, and report on key product performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, leveraging data and customer feedback to identify optimisation opportunities and drive continuous product improvement.
  • Invest in Your Future
    Dedicated budget for external training, industry certifications, and conferences, coupled with opportunities to drive strategic initiatives and mentor talent for accelerated career advancement.

Skills needed

  • 8+ years experience in financial product management with a track record of successfully launching and commercialising web based B2B products.
  • A self-starter with the decisiveness and entrepreneurial drive required to own and launch critical products within the rapidly evolving, high-stakes regulated cryptocurrency institutional market.
  • Deep understanding of the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry, particularly in the areas of custody, trading and yield.
  • Expert knowledge of traditional banking, treasury, secured lending and investment products for institutional clients.
  • Knowledge of TradFi and Crypto regulations (AML, KYC, VASP, MiCA), building compliant products by design.
  • Proficiency in defining and tracking KPIs and leveraging data for objective product decisions.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively in a global, multicultural environment
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks related to custody, lending and liquidity.
  • Experience in financial modeling, dynamic pricing and business case development.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial and security requirements into intuitive, compliance-aware user journeys for web platforms and B2B API integrations.

Xapo Device Policy
Consultants joining Xapo Bank must comply with the Xapo Device Policy, which governs the use of corporate-approved laptops under Corporate-Owned, Personally Purchased Device (reimbursed up to $1,500) or Corporate-Owned, Personally Enabled Device (personal device with enforced security controls).
All devices must meet security requirements, enroll in Xapo’s Mobile Device Management (MDM), and adhere to compliance rules. COPPD devices remain Xapo property with buyback options upon exit. COPED users agree to data control measures, including mandatory corporate data wipes.
Compliance with the Xapo Device Policy is mandatory for all consultants, onboarding will not proceed without adherence to the policy.
